How to Clean Vape Tank

 

Proper maintenance and cleaning are crucial for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of your vape device. Regular cleaning helps prevent residue build up, enhances flavour, and extends the life of your device. This guide will take you through the essentials of maintaining and cleaning your vape device, covering everything from disassembly to thorough cleaning and reassembly.

 

Before you start cleaning, it's important to understand the main parts of your vape device:

• Battery: Powers the device and is usually rechargeable.
• Tank: Holds the vape juice.
• Coil: Located in the tank, this component heats the vape juice to produce vapour.
• Mouthpiece: The part through which you inhale the vapour.

Each component requires specific care during the cleaning process.

 

Ensuring your vape device functions smoothly involves regular maintenance:

• Check Battery Contacts: Keep the battery contacts clean to maintain device performance. If you notice build up, gently wipe the area with a dry cloth.
• Replace Coils Regularly: Coils degrade over time and should be replaced every 1 to 4 weeks, depending on usage. Indicators for replacement include a burnt taste, reduced vapour production, lacking flavour, or discoloration of the vape juice (although this last one can be a red herring as sweeter juices can discolour without burning the coil).
• Monitor Vape Juice Levels: Avoid letting the vape juice run too low to prevent the coil from drying out and burning.

 

Performing a thorough cleaning every few weeks can maintain your device’s performance:

Step 1: Disassemble the Device

Carefully disassemble your device. Remove the tank from the battery, take out the coil, and disassemble the mouthpiece if possible. Place the parts on a clean, dry towel.

  

Step 2: Clean the Tank

Rinse the tank with warm water. Use a bit of dish soap for tough grime, ensuring all soap is thoroughly rinsed off. For deeper cleaning, isopropyl alcohol can be used. Let the tank air dry completely for at least 24 hours. If you can’t wait, using a dry cloth or kitchen roll to remove the worst of the dirt, without water, can be an effective way of cleaning without the hassle of waiting.

Step 3: Clean the Coil

Coils should not be wet cleaned as moisture can cause burnout. Instead, gently blow through the coil to remove residue. If the coil is excessively dirty, it’s best to replace it.

Step 4: Clean the Mouthpiece

The mouthpiece can be cleaned in a manner similar to the tank. Rinse it with warm water, use dish soap for deeper cleaning, and then allow it to air dry.

Step 5: Reassemble the Device

Once all parts are dry, reassemble your device. Refill the tank with vape juice and allow a few minutes for the juice to saturate the new coil (if you've replaced it), and then it’s ready for use.
