Can You Vape in Cyprus

 
The short answer is yes, you can indeed vape in Cyprus.
 
Cyprus adheres to the EU Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) of 2014. The regulation of nicotine-containing e-cigarettes falls under the Law on Health Protection (Tobacco Control Law) of 2017 and the Health Protection (Tobacco Control) Regulations of 2017. E-cigarette use is restricted in public areas, and it is prohibited in private vehicles if a pregnant woman or a minor under 18 is present. Violations of vaping restrictions by businesses and individuals can result in fines of up to €850. Vape shops are the only exception to these restrictions. Additionally, advertising and promotion of e-cigarette products, free giveaways, sales from vending machines, and cross-border sales of e-cigarettes are all prohibited.
 
So make sure when you’re vaping in Cyprus, that you are vaping outdoors and in areas that are not dedicated as no-smoking zones.

 

Can you buy vapes in Cyprus?

There are quite a few places to buy vape liquid, disposables and devices in Cyprus, with a quite a few dedicated vape shops in the capital of Nicosia, and disposables being readily available in local convenience shops. You won’t be struggling to find goods to suit your vaping needs.

The major hurdle for vaping in Cyprus is the mixing of short fills, as they do things slightly differently to everyone else. If you use short fills in the UK you find that all you need to do is add nicotine shots, in Cyprus on the other hand you have to add, VG and nicotine to you vape liquid as the 120ml bottles will only come with 30ml of PG and flavourings. It’s a very similar process and it does also allow you to add more nicotine if require, but be careful, the more nicotine you add, the more expensive it becomes.

Airport Policies for vaping in Cyprus

All airlines that operate in Cyprus follow the same rules regarding vape liquids and vape devices as other countries in the EU, with all of them being classified as “Dangerous Goods”. This is a blanket term that refers to any potentially dangerous devices, such as power banks, remote control cars, corrosive substances and pretty much anything containing batteries, removable or not.

This all means that when travelling with a vape device, through Cyprus airlines or airports, they must be stored inside of you carry on hand luggage. If you need to vape at the airport, use the designated smoking areas.
